Nina Beier (b. 1975) is a Danish interdisciplinary artist working between Berlin and Copenhagen. Her practice is grounded in sculpture, installation, and performativity, often revealing layers of cultural, class, gender, or colonial histories.
At Klaipėda Biennial, she presents her installation Ø (Island), 2024 (on the lawn next to the central entrance of KKKC Exhibition Hall, Didžioji Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda). Marble is one of Nina Beier’s frequently used materials and reflects her interest in its transformation from a geological substance into a cultural artefact. In Beier’s work, the boundary between an object’s history and its symbolic value is both emphasised and reshaped through new philosophical associations and vantage points.
